College Station Visit - II

Jake and I came back to Scott's to recharge after a great morning of discussion and learning.  It was now time to train.  We rode with Scott to the new A&M Physical Education Activity Program (PEAP) Building where the powerlifting team trains.  The team has their own weight training room that they get to use exclusively.  In the club powerlifting world this is HUGE!  Most teams have to train in their student rec center with the rest of the general student population.  Not the Aggies, the Aggies have their own room with every piece of equipment needed to get strong.  If you can't get strong in there, then you can't get strong.  Here are some pictures:

It was bench night and it was time to load the bar.  Most of the team was preparing for the upcoming collegiate nationals.  Scott was going to work up to a heavy single and Jake and I were going to get some rep work in.  The weights were flying around and the energy was really good.  You can see how my night went by clicking on my training log HERE.  After we finished training it was time to refuel and throw down on some good food.  We went to the Potato Shack to fill our bellies.  If you haven't been to the Potato Shack in College Station you need to make a trip.  The baked potatoes are HUGE and you can fill them with everything from broccoli to hot wings.

Delicious!!!
After some good eats we checked into our hotel for the remainder of the weekend.  In the morning we were headed to the All Sports Strength and Conditioning Clinic being held at A&M Consolidated High School.   Check back soon for a review of the clinic.
